Several cities around the Bay area are hiring for inside positions! Many cities are hiring for letter carriers! A couple of cities are hiring for maintemance mechanics or Tractor Trailer Operator or Motor Vehicle Operator. Positions are usually open only for 4 days. But positions will be reposted. In order for you to be hired, you need to prepare for the exams ahead of time because some of the exams need to be taken within 72 hours after the applications are submitted and the other exams need to be taken within 6 days after the on line assessments. On line assessments have to be completed within 72 hours after the job application.

It doesn't matter where you are taking the exams. What it matters is you will have to spend time prepare yourself for the exam alead of time in order for you to pass it with a good score. Many people take the exams many times but the testing results are all "inelligible". That means the score was belove 70.

Many post offices in the San Francisco Bay area are hiring carriers with benefits now. That means you don't have to wait to become a regular employee. Once you are hired, you will be able to enjoy all the benefits as a Fedeal employee.

Postal employees receive the same general benefits provided to federal employees for the most part. However, Post Office employees pay considerably less for their health care bi-weekly premiums than the competitive Civil Service does.

Vacation & Sick Leave

All employees receive generous benefits including:

10 paid holidays13 vacation days for the first 3 years, twenty days of vacation with three to fifteen years service and after fifteen years twenty-six days.Additionally, 13 sick days are accrued each year regardless of length of service. Employees are permitted to carry their sick leave balances year to year. Many retire with over a years sick leave which they can apply towards their retirement time.Military time counts toward benefits. If you have three years of military service, you begin with four weeks paid vacation and three years towards retirement. You can buyback your military time so that it counts towards your federal civil service retirement.

Currently the bay area is not hiring for a lot of jobs. However new hiring is posted every day and in the next two months there will be many positions of inside jobs hiring (August and September). And these positions will continue to be hiring new employees towards the end of the year and the beginning of next year.

If you are unemployed currently at home, it's the perfect time for you to talk to us and start to prepare for the postal exam. Since April 2019, the old postal exam of 473 has retired and a set of new postal exams have been introduced. People have to pass the new exam if they want to get the entry jobs of post office. Once the new position of hiring is posted, it opens only 4 days. So you will have to submit the job application within the 4 days.

Once the job application is submitted successfully, the posst office will review your application to see if you are a good candidate for the position. If you are considered a good candidate, they will invite you to take the exam for the position. And you will have to take the exam within 3 days after you receive the invitation . If you didn't pass the exam, you will have to wait for one year to apply for the same kind of position and take the exam again. If you pass the exam, no matter your score is 70 or 75 or 80, you will have to wait for two years to get another chance to take the same exam again

So if you want to make sure you get a good score and have the opportunity to get the job, you have to prepare for the exam ahead of time to make sure you are able to score high before you apply for the job.

In addition to full time jobs with excellent benefit, there is also part time job for people to deliver package on Sunday. During the months from September to January, Post offices would usually hire holiday clerks to help the office in busy holiday seasons.
